Celebrating our social media influencer of the year award finalists

The first ever Celebrating Forces Families (CFF) Awards Evening will be taking place at the end of April in London and the CFF Team are thrilled to be sharing news of the Social Media Influencer Award finalists. Three amazing military partners will be part of the evening’s black tie celebrations to find out who will walk away with the winning trophy.

This award is for someone who is part of the military family and been instrumental in spreading the word and supporting the Armed Forces community through social media.

Meet the finalists

Simone Riley - CFF Finalist

Simone Riley

Simone Riley started Elite Force Mortgages and works purely on social media where she has now amassed 1,173 followers on Facebook and just under 7,000 on LinkedIn. However, Simone’s much more interested in her customer reviews showing how she’s helped people with their mortgage related content, as well as general conversations including updates on her puppy, supporting a very well-known military children’s charity or throwing herself around the latest triathlon! All to go above and beyond to ensure members of the Armed Forces are looked after. eliteforcemortgages (Facebook)

Charlotte Harker - CFF Finalist

Charlotte Harker

Charlotte Harker shares so much of the highs and lows of being a military wife, from the magnolia box to anxiety about starting again with each new posting and how it affects her family. She also openly talks about living with anxiety, agoraphobia, mental health and body confidence, with some plus size fashion thrown in for fun! @charlotteharker (Insta)

Georgie Muir

Georgie Muir

Georgie Muir’s Chasing Lobsters was originally created through a desire to support and inspire other military spouses to thrive, personally and professionally within the constant upheaval of military life. Initially created when her chiropractic career was paused during overseas postings, she pivoted to offer life coaching to professional women, sponsoring military spouses’ personal development, and exemplifying how she can help the very community she is part of herself. @chasinglobsters (Insta)

Award Sponsor, Marks and Spencer’s Head of Logistics and Veterans Network Senior Sponsor, Paul Burns says:

“I have huge respect for our Armed Forces, of the work they do and the sacrifices they make for our safety and well-being. We at Marks and Spencer are privileged to have so many military family members and veterans as colleagues, it is great to see due recognition and the chance to share this awards evening with pride.”

Chair of the Partner Employment Working Group, Sarah Walker says:

“It has been completely inspiring to read the many nominations we received – the hard part was choosing those we couldn’t shortlist. In my eyes, they are all winners! Our military families really do contribute massively to the UK Armed Forces, making it the fantastic community that it is today.

“I am also absolutely delighted to be working with a fantastic event team to bring to life our very first Celebrating Forces Families Awards Evening.”

Military families supporting military families

This event really is being brought together from within its own community. The event team are all military family members themselves – some grew up as military children, others as partners or Veterans. This includes additional resources such as Lee Mowlem from remarkablepixel.co.uk, Helen at helenholtphotography.com, Al Topping of xtremeexposures.com, Hannah Illingworth of hivirtualassistant.uk and Andrea Baker of bsclothingandgifts.co.uk.

Thank you to the sponsors

The financial support provided by all of the amazing CFF sponsors has allowed this tri-Service event to be a truly memorable evening for all families involved.
