Kevin Gartside
Kevin is an army veteran and has been leading military and DEI initiatives at Barclays for the past eight years.
He’s passionate about ensuring Barclays continues to be at the forefront of support to the whole armed forces community.

Maggie Pedder
Maggie is a HR Professional and worked in the retail and financial sectors before setting up her consultancy business over 20 years ago. She has worked with commercial companies including BP, AXA Financial Services, Siemens and Hays as well as not for profit organisations such as Viridian Housing Association, St Johns Bath and Livability, a disability charity.
She has a wealth of experience as a trustee and board member and has served as Chair of the Army Families Federation and the Military Wives Choirs. She is a trustee of the Army Widows Association, the Peter Cowley African Trust and the Veterans Foundation.
Maggie was an Army wife for over 30 years, accompanying her husband on various postings including tours in Germany and Scotland. As a military wife she understand the many challenges and joys of being part of a Forces family and the importance of those organisations and individuals who provide support and friendship to our unique military community. She was awarded "Family Volunteer of the Year" in 2022 in recognition of over 30 years of volunteering and is honoured to be part of the judging panel.

Professor Janet Walker OBE
Janet studied social sciences, practised as a probation officer, family therapist and family mediator for 10 years before directing over 50 interdisciplinary studies on various aspects of family life and relationships at Newcastle University.
She has held a number of public appointments and undertaken a variety of consultancy and pro-bono projects for government departments. She was lead adviser to the independent review, commissioned in 2019 by the then Secretary of State for Defence, examining the support needs of military families, and the lead author of the review report ‘Living in Our Shoes’ published in June 2020. Most recently she’s been the Chair of the Archbishops' Commission on Families and Households and lead author of the report 'Love Matters' published in 2023. She is an Independent Adviser to the implementation of the MOD Families Strategy, and trustee of the Naval Families Federation.

Sarah Clewes
Sarah enjoyed a long and successful career in the Royal Navy, serving in the Logistics Branch for over 20 years, both ashore and at sea. Since taking voluntary redundancy from the Royal Navy in 2012, she has developed as a charity professional and undertaken a number of roles, in Events, Fundraising and Project Management and as Deputy Director of Operations.
Sarah was asked to join the Naval Families Federation (NFF) as the Interim Chief Executive Officer in January 2022 and secured the permanent role in October. Underpinned by her service in the Royal Navy and charity background, her passion lies in enabling families to thrive in communities of their choice. She joined NFF from a local Hospice, leading teams at the Mountbatten Hospice Group in both Southampton and the Isle of Wight, as a Fundraising Consultant.
Sarah has contributed to military charities in a number of voluntary roles: as the Chairman of the Royal Navy Royal Marines Widows’ Association; Trustee for the Royal Naval Benevolent Trust and most recently as a Mentor.

Neil ‘Jacko’ Jackson
As an Army officer Jacko completed operational tours & training around the world with postings in the UN, NATO, the UK MoD & Army Headquarters.
Since leaving he has focussed commercially on stakeholder management, business development and refining customer service delivery models including as National Operations Director on the complex recruiting programme in partnership with the MoD. He was appointed as the Director of Defence Relationship Management (DRM) in 2019.

Heledd Kendrick
Heledd is the founier of Recruit For Spouses which is there to support military spouses into employment.
Since the company's inception in 2009 RFS has supported over 7,000 wives, partners and veterans into employment.

Nick Pope
Lt Gen Sir Nicholas Pope KCB CBE, Chair of The Confederation of Service Charities
Lt Gen Sir Nicholas Pope KCB CBE is the Chair of The Confederation of Service Charities. During a forty year military career, General Nicholas witnessed how the Army and Defence accommodated change both in peace and on operations. He saw service in Bosnia and Afghanistan and held staff appointments in the Ministry of Defence at every rank from Major to Major General, where his focus was on the higher management of Defence.
He remains an avid gardener and a keen canoeist, paddling with enthusiasm but no real technique.

Maria Lyle
Before joining the RAF Families Federation Maria previously led a large multi - national team within IT Services delivery at Board level.
Her strategic relationship management experience was developed in the Department of Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy, where as a Director she worked directly with Cabinet Ministers and brokered co-investment deals between government, large private sector firms such as Rolls Royce, and local authorities.
Maria also previously led strategic change management as a senior consultant, with Board level clients in pharmacy, online retail, and public sector bodies.
As a former RAF officer whose partner is still serving, she brings to the role her experience of both being a serving member of the military, and part of a military family. Maria is also a Director of the Forces Pension Society.
